Recently I met a recording group through one of my social media pages that asked me to take a listen to a song on their profile page, it was a great song. That’s when the idea hit me I struggle day in and day out to market my mobile DJ business trying to find new ways to get noticed and to reach more people, these guys are doing the same thing, yes they do from time to time get to perform in clubs, bars, pubs and if lucky maybe even larger venues, each hoping one day to get a shot at hearing their song on the radio or getting that call from a major label.

What if the local musical talent networked with the local mobile DJ’s providing a few original songs for the mobile DJ to play when they are out performing for their audiences?

What a marketing strategy this would be you have a traveling DJ (mobile DJ) introducing your music to people who may have not heard of your group or band. Mobile DJ’s are requested to play a large genre of music at most places they play so this would allow many musicians of many music types to utilize the mobile DJ as a new advertising method, I know I for one (and I am not speaking for other mobile DJ’s out there) would love to have songs and sounds no one else in my business has or to be the one to have them first so I do not foresee myself trying to charge any musician to play their songs at some of my many shows. I would however ask for the rights to play their music both in a personal and professional matter but not to be aired or copied and distributed to anyone other then my own use. Is it possible that this method could shorten the long hard years it takes to be discovered? How many singers have found fame from American idol? So why would it not be possible for a musician, band, musical group to excel in their career path using a mobile DJ as a distribution method for their music. If anything it may get groups, bands musicians booked into more local venues or events.

I am not an expert by any means in marketing the record or recording businesses. I am only attempting to share a few ideas and theories.
